Any loose flowing product that can be weighed and will fall easily is suitable for vertical bagging.

This low cost form of packaging is generally used to create disposable pouches for consumables. It has a wide range of applications including sweets, granular food, pet treats and fertiliser – in fact we can bag just about anything!

A flat film is formed into the shape of a tube using a lap seal on the reverse. The product is then weighed above the bagger and the appropriate portion is dropped in. As one pouch is sealed, the bottom of the next is created.

Cost savings can also be achieved in the transportation of products using vertical bagging. The film that forms the pouch is supplied flat, so it take up much less space before filling and when the order is complete, the bags have a smaller surface area and less weight than comparable forms of packaging.
