While some coatings are obviously designed to draw the consumers attention, many are used specifically for their functionality. But, let's start with the pretty ones. Specialty coatings add marketing power. They are designed to catch the customer's attention, increase the perceived value of the product and make your product stand out from the many competitors next to it.

Gold Foil has been trendy lately. Using it gives your brand credibility among trend savvy consumers. It is also associated with higher-end products, increasing the perceived value. If you feel gold isn't quite right, try another metallic, copper and turquoise are also trending.

Glitter is even more light catching than foil. Our glitter is 100% non-shedding. It tends to result in a more fun personality and is often found on products for younger demographics. However, with that said, using it in sophisticated ways still results in a high-end look.

POP (pop off the page) coating. POP coating looks similar to flocking, but is actually quite different. It is 100% non-shedding and can be layered on itself or with our other coatings for really interesting effects. POP is quite textured giving products that use them anti-slip properties, reducing shrinkage.

C-Thru is a semi-translucent coating that gives a watermark effect, even on heavy, cover weight papers. This effect is particularly high end and we use it a lot on retail bag designs.

For functionality, varnish coatings can really add integrity and product packaging from scuffing through out the supply chain cycle. We also have waterproof coatings that protect products in high humidity climates.
