William J. Lueschen founded the plant in 1982. He served as AST's Director of R&D until he passed in 2013. As Manager of R&D at American Home Products, Bill developed PAM cooking spray, Wizard Air Freshener, Easy-On Starch, Easy-Off Oven Cleaner and Woolite Rug Cleaner, among many other products.
AST continues to proactively develop on-trend, cutting edge products for our cosmetic, personal care, and OTC drug/medical device customers. It’s our mission to bring the latest and greatest spray innovations to life.
AST led the revolution in the dry shampoo category with
path breaking no-clog aerosol sprays in 2010. Today,
we fill for several of the leading national and international
brands. Our William J. Lueschen Center for Innovationhas grown a cascading library of dry shampoo, conditioner, & hairspray combination formulae.
Like these, over 100 brand new aerosol products have
been developed for the marketplace since 2010 including award-winning bestsellers such as hair root concealing sprays, powder body sprays, and a no-touch calamine spray.
To carry our innovation mission forward, AST's development capabilities have grown with a move to a brand-new R&D facility – including an expanded laboratory, a testing salon, and an innovation showroom – from January 2016!
