Berry Global proudly retained its silver rating from EcoVadis, a global sustainability rating platform, for the second year in a row. Berry improved its overall score from 61 to 67, moving the global packaging leader from the 82nd to the 89th percentile with score increases in three out of four categories: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement.
One main driver for improvement is Berry’s continued focus on enhancing Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Human Resource (HR) practices at the company’s individual sites. Berry improved its score by providing site-level evidence for EHS and HR efforts that go beyond the company’s minimum standards for water and waste management, working conditions, social dialogue, career management and training, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
“In addition to all our company is doing to reduce our environmental impact, this recognition represents Berry’s continued commitment to ensuring the unique identities, talents, skills, and experiences of our employees are welcomed, respected, and fully utilized,” said Jeff Bennett, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Berry Global. “Our ultimate goal is to support and advance the careers of the team members who will champion the growth of our business and lead our organization into the future. And we applaud our sites that are going above and beyond to set the example for others.”
