BillerudKorsnäs partner CHOCAL received innovation prize at ProSweets Cologne for challenging traditional chocolate packaging made out of aluminum. FibreForm® is the challenger and there is great potential for replacing further products.

BillerudKorsnäs partner, CHOCAL (Hörnlein Group), located in the southern part of Germany, has been awarded “the ISM packaging award” for innovative packaging at ProSweets 2019 in Cologne. Seasonal chocolate figures - wrapped in paper - is one of the upcoming products soon to be out on the market. The goal with the collaboration between the companies is to create more sustainable packaging.

Hein van den Reek and Adam Törnqvist from BillerudKorsnäs Solutions Team are together with CHOCAL running the project to transform this development into the first application on the market. CHOCAL is a machine producer and a big player in the area of pressforming of aluminium for chocolate hollow figures and other shaped products for the seasonal segment. Within the group of Hörnlein, they also serve the car industry. This cooperation is a step in the right direction towards creating more sustainable products.
