On the occasion of the winter meeting on 2 February 2017 in Aigen / Ennstal, the best domestic grass and maize silages were awarded in the course of the Silage Award for the LK silage project 2016. Coveris supported the quality campaign in the silage sector and thus also committed itself to the path of professionalization of the farmers.

In order to elaborate recommendations for the improvement of the quality of fodder feed, the feed farmers of  the Landeslandwirtschaftskammern, together with the project partners Milchkreisarbeitskreis, Landskontrollverband (LKV), Maschinenring, Futtermittellabor Rosenau of LK Niederösterreich and the Höhere Bundeslehr- und Forschungsanstalt für Landwirtschaft (HBLFA) Raumberg-Gumpenstein organizes the LK silage project. More than 600 plants from all over Austria had a total of 720 silage samples analyzed for nutrient content, scaffold substances and fermentation quality, and also completed a silage management questionnaire.
