Flexopack srl
Flexopack is one of Italy's largest manufacturers of biodegradable carrier bags.
History
Nicola Trimboli’s professional life began in the 1960s in the flexible-packaging wholesale trade. His career developed hand in hand with market trends, from food wrapping paper to paper bags and the first flexible packaging in polyethylene.
In the 1970s, Trimboli became the market leader, and in 1985 he put all his experience and expertise into setting up Flexopack. The company was founded with a specific aim – to be at the cutting edge. Thus he immediately invested in working with plastic materials and boosting production capacity, with an integrated plant and departments dedicated to extruding, printing, welding and regenerating plastic materials.
Growing the company and driving it forward is a joint effort between the Trimboli family and the motivated, dynamic young commercial and production staff, who have an active part in developing the business in Italian and international markets.
Today, Flexopack has around 60 employees and is continually growing, especially in production and innovation terms.
Flexopack products are renowned for their excellent quality and superb mechanical performance.
As a result, Flexopack is now the market leader, with a production system and service portfolio that represents the state of the art in this sector. The research-and-development effort never ceases, as Flexopack aims to create flexible solutions to meet market needs.
Flexopack makes a huge range of custom products for our partners in the main Italian and European mass-retail groups.
The company is now one of Italy’s largest manufacturers of biodegradable carrier bags, with an annual production capacity exceeding 15,000 tons.
We can produce large volumes with our 7 extrusion and coextrusion lines and 18 welders.
With the printing machines, both in line and reel to reel, we can flexo print in up to 8 colours and use certified compostable and biodegradable water-based inks.
These machines have been specially developed to handle biodegradable polymers, and they produce products with excellent mechanical and functional properties. What’s more, for printing on biodegradable material, we use fully biodegradable and compostable inks from the AcquaBio range.
Thus Flexopack’s production capacity is founded on cutting-edge technology that provides excellent output, precision and quality.
We are also leaders in packaging systems to meet the specific needs of each customer in Italy and abroad.
The company is investing in new sectors, including the production of packaging for the flower-growing industry, with a packaging and reel-to-reel printing line in up to 6 colours to make sleeves for flowers and pot plants. This line also performs small and moderate customisations for our whole product range. In addition, the production facilities have recently been extended with two welding lines for loop-handle carrier bags and compact-roll refuse sacks.
Flexopack is keenly aware of environmental issues. That is why we have invested in developing the best technologies to the point that we recycle 100% of our production waste - we regenerate up to 450 kg every hour for re-use in refuse-sack production.
In line with our mission, the company has always carefully optimised the entire production chain. We have exceptional expertise and skill in selecting polymers and product components and in marketing the finished product.
