Giflor, the Italian plastic caps and closures company has been awarded the Tube of the Year Gold Award by the American tube manufacturers association. The Tube Council presented Giflor with the award at the recent convention which was held in Las Vegas.
Giflor joined the Tube Council, the most important US organization of tube manufacturers, as an associate member in 2016, and just one year on, has been presented one of the organization's top awards - the 2016 Gold Award for the "Innovative Component and Process category" for the company's Eco Low Profile Caps for Tubes.
The Eco Low Profile Caps, produced by Giflor, have won a number of awards since the ranges were launched. Both the Eco low profile flip-top cap for tubes and the Eco low profile bi-color flip-top cap for bottles were selected as winners within the "Health & Beauty" category at the prestigious WorldStar awards, and the caps have also won awards at other well-known packaging events.
Giflor's Eco Low Profile caps have been embraced by the packaging industry as sustainable packaging components. The company first released a range for bottles and later extended the offering to include closure options for tubes.
With their extremely slim design, Giflor's Eco Low Profile Caps for Tubes consume less material than traditional tube closures and weigh as much as 50% less, amounting to considerable savings in logistical costs as well as a reduced carbon footprint.
Paolo Lobba, head of Research and Development, attended the Tube Council convention to accept the award for Giflor.
