PPMA Total Show Preview, Interactive Coding Equipment, Stand D70
ICE coding and marking versatility on show
Celebrating its 15th birthday this year, the Interactive Coding Equipment (ICE) stand at the upcoming PPMA Show will showcase the company’s extensive range of coders suitable for a wide variety of applications in many end markets including food and beverage, pharmaceutical, personal care, industrial and electronics.
Highlights include ICE’s proven Zodiac thermal transfer printer, Scorpion and Viper thermal ink jet printers, and its revolutionary Vulcan print and apply labeller.
The ICE Vulcan is the first of its type to print and directly apply the label to a pack – both traded unit boxes and shrinkwrap packs - in one continuous motion without the need for a tamp applicator or compressed air. This means the machine can print at the speed of the line, even when packs are very closely spaced, without ever missing a pack.
Among its unique benefits, the ICE Vulcan offers 80% fewer wear parts for reduced maintenance requirements, electronic label supply that automatically adjusts and maintains tension, and clutchless thermal transfer ribbon drive. A compact design and small footprint means the machine can fit easily into existing packing lines.
The Scorpion thermal inkjet printer features a unique printhead design which incorporates a novel Cartridge Protection System. This innovation reduces the uncapped time of the cartridge, allowing the use of inks suitable for non- porous substrates without loss of reliability or print quality.
Another thermal inkjet solution the ICE Viper can print up to four lines of text at 600dpi resolution as well as barcodes, 2D data matrix codes and logos. It offers easy set up and maintenance-free operation thanks to its simple-to- replace ink jet cartridge system.
The ICE Zodiac thermal transfer printer has been proven in more than 7,000 installations throughout the UK. Its unique sold state ribbon drive and the absence of any wearing parts such as clutch and brakes mean the printer combines excellent reliability with the lowest cost of ownership. In addition, it has the flexibility to operate in both intermittent and continuous modes and at very low or very high speeds, with a robust construction that is IP65 rated for easy wash down.
PPMA visitors are also being invited to sign up as a VIP on the company’s website (www.interactivecoding.co.uk/VIP) in order to receive an exclusive birthday gift when visiting the ICE stand (D70).
