Finke presents a comprehensive range of products at Fakuma

Karl Finke GmbH, a leading medium-sized manufacturer of pigment preparations, is a pioneer in terms of innovation and service in the coloring of plastics. At Fakuma in Friedrichshafen, the family-owned company, based in Wuppertal (Germany), will present its comprehensive range of colorants. Regardless of whether FIBAPLAST masterbatches, WUBALEN pigment mixtures, FIBASOL liquid dyes or FIBADUR coloring pastes, Finke colorists can flexibly and reliably fulfil almost any color wish within the shortest time.

FIBAPLAST masterbatches: quick availability and versatile applicability

Finke manufactures its FIBAPLAST masterbatches on one of the most modern production lines in Europe. These masterbatches contain pigments, that are already bound and dispersed in plastic granules. They are developed precisely to the customer’s color and material specifications can be exactly adapted to specific production conditions in Finke’s own laboratory. FIBAPLAST masterbatches are suitable for all areas of thermoplastic processing, particularly for injection moulding and extrusion applications. FIBAPLAST distinguishes itself by optimum dispersion of the pigments in the carrier material and excellent distribution in the plastics. The granulated masterbatches for coloring materials like PE, PP, PA, ABS, PS, SAN and POM are offered in different pellet sizes and guarantee good processing. Numerous possible additives such as UV protective agents, anti-oxidants, antistatic agents, lubricants or additives for laser printing, open up a wide range of applications. All FIBAPLAST recipes fulfil the respective applicable statutory regulations (e.g. food contact use, automotive use, etc.). More than 200 standard colors from the RAL and Pantone color systems are available as recipes and as PE or UNI carrier (250g sample) and can be supplied within the shortest time. All colors can also be supplied with special effects.

WUBALEN pigment mixtures: low-dust and intensive in color

The powdery WUBALEN dry pigments are among Finke’s first product innovations. Thus a great amount of experience went into the highly color intensive mixtures, that are either based on organic or inorganic pigments. These products are dry, low-dust, pourable colorants with a high color intensity and good homogeneity. If required, physiologically harmless pigment mixtures can be provided. The WUBALEN pigment mixtures are suitable for all thermoplastic polymers and allow for various special effects by means of special additives. Finke’s colorists continuously adjust the specially prepared WUBALEN pigments or pigment mixtures exactly to the technical requirements and wishes of the customers by carefully selecting the suitable raw material.

FIBASOL liquid dyes: high temperature resistance and light-fastness

FIBASOL liquid dyes are pigment mixtures in a liquid binding agent. They show high temperature resistance, light-fastness and physiological harmlessness and can be used in almost all thermoplastics. The FIBASOL liquid dyes are particularly suitable for transparent colors, e.g. the coloring of PET beverage bottles, because they do not impair the physical or chemical properties of the material. Their properties can be exactly controlled and individually configured to suit the customer’s wishes by selecting suitable pigments and additives.

FIBADUR coloring pastes: tailored for special applications

FIBADUR coloring pastes can be used to color PVC systems, duroplastics (polyurethanes, epoxy resins, unsaturated polyester resins) and special applications. The liquid and pasty pigment preparations mix perfectly with the respective plastic system, so a defined color intensity and color constancy is always exactly reproduced. For optimum fluidity, dispersion and processing Finke uses a variety of additives. This allows plastic systems with FIBADUR coloring paste to be processed in many different ways: coating, painting, casting, immersion, foaming or lamination. Finke develops the FIBADUR recipes quickly and individually in all colors of the color range and a wide variety of carriers.

    Expertise, service and quality

Karl Finke GmbH has been renowned for its expertise, quality and service in the coloring of plastics for more than 65 years. Finke can supply almost any color flexibly and reliably within the shortest time. The colorists work in close co-operation with the processors in the color selection. Experienced technicians advise and support the users from the design stage to the end product. For optimum results, Finke works with the original material of the customer and simulates the customer’s specific production conditions in its own laboratory. Numerous processing methods, ranging from various injection moulding and extrusion methods to blow moulding can be exactly simulated on state-of-the-art equipment.

Masterbatches, pigment mixtures, liquid dyes and coloring pastes: for more than 65 years Finke has provided innovative color solutions and supported users from design stage to final product.

State-of-the art production lines combined with more than 65 years of experience are the key to the high quality colorants, Karl Finke GmbH, a worldwide operating family-owned company, produces in Wuppertal (Germany). Apart from granulated masterbatches and pigment powders, Finke offers liquid dyes and coloring pastes, tailored to fit almost any type of plastics application. Every year Finke’s colorists develop about 8,000 colorants in accordance with specifications of customers from industries like cosmeticsand food packaging, medical technology, automotive, furniture, electronics and toys.

For all areas of thermoplastic processing, like injection moulding and extrusion applications, FIBAPLAST masterbachtes are particularly suited. These pigment mixtures are based on a thermoplastic polymer carrier material and developed precisely to the color and material specifications of the plastics producer. Numerous possible additives such as UV protective agents, antioxidants, anti-static agents, lubricants or additives for laser printing, open up a wide range of applications. FIBAPLAST masterbatches are available in more than 200 standard colors from the RAL color system. Customized colors can be provided on short notice.

For transparent colorants Finke has developed its FIBASOL liquid dyes. Their liquid binding agent does not impair the physical or chemical properties of the material in any way and is physiologically harmless. FIBASOL dyes show a high temperature resistance, excellent light-fastness and can be combined with almost all thermoplastics. They are particularly suited for food packaging and cosmetic packaging.

FIBADUR pastes are the colorant of choice for special plastics like PVC systems, polyurethanes, epoxy resins or unsaturated polyester resins. The liquid and pasty pigment preparations mix perfectly with the respective plastic system, provide well-defined color intensity as well as high color constancy and can even color liquid polymers. For optimum fluidity, dispersion and processing Finke uses a variety of additives. This allows plastic systems with FIBADUR coloring paste to be processed in many different ways: coating, painting, casting, immersion, foaming or lamination.

The powdery WUBALEN dry pigments are among the first product innovations Finke brought into the market in the 1950ies. They have been continually improved and adapted to new requirements since then. Based either on organic or inorganic pigments, they are dry, low-dust, pourable colorants with high color intensity and good homogeneity. The WUBALEN pigment mixtures are suitable for all thermoplastic polymers and allow for various special effects by means of selected additives. Since they are physiologically harmless, they can be used in food packaging and textile applications.

In the color selection process, Finke’s colorists work in close co-operation with plastics processors. Experienced technicians counsel and support manufacturers from the design stage to the end product. For optimum results, Finke works with the customer’s original material and simulates specific production conditions, ranging from various injection moulding and extrusion methods to blow moulding, in its own laboratory.
