    Tube Council announces the winning entries in 2018 annual Tube of the Year competition

    The Tube Council of North America has announced the winning entries for the annual Tube of the Year competition.

    The Tube Council provides educational resources, information, and networking opportunities to professionals within the tube industry. For over seventy years, the Tube Council has grown from a meeting of owners of tube manufacturing operations to a council that represents the entire NA tube industry – tube manufacturers, as well as many of its partners supplying components or services to the industry.

    Each year, Tube Council members present the best and most innovative tubes in various market categories including the Personal Care, Oral Care, Pharmaceutical, Industrial and Household and Food markets. Innovations in Sustainability and Product Components and processes are also considered.

    Entries are considered in Tube Council’s annual Tube-of-the-Year competition with each entry carefully evaluated by a jury composed of representatives from major consumer goods companies and industry professionals considering package aesthetics, decoration and unique tube components. For the 2018 competition, jurors were comprised of individuals from such companies Mast Global, Harry’s and High Ridge Brands, as well as representatives from leading packaging journals.

    In particular, The Tube Council would specifically like to recognize the Ted Klein Tube of the year award recipient, Viva IML Tubes, for the Pacifica Dream State Power Shimmer Body Lotion tube.

    Winning entries in the various categories will be honored at the Tube Council’s next full membership meeting in May in New York City to be held in conjunction with Luxe Pack NY.

    According to Bruno Lebeault, President of the Tube Council, “Tubes are definitely getting more attention and our Tube of the Year Competition is receiving more and more recognition by Brands”.

    He further remarked that “Recently, during our Fall Membership Conference which was attended by leading Brands using Tubes and other type of packaging, a key message was that these brand owners prefer tubes over other packaging types noting that tubes have a higher output compared to other containers, like bottles; tubes are a complete packaging without any need to apply a label or a cap; and decoration is usually better on tubes."
